E-visa, visa on arrival, and electronic authorisation

· visamio

Three documents that visa websites often treat as one product. What you receive by email, and what you still do at the border.

E-visa

An e-visa is a decision before you fly. It is tied to the passport number. Replacing the passport after approval usually voids it.

Egypt is the e-visa we file now. Sinai stamps, airport cash visas and the Cairo QR code are explained on the Egypt page, because they are not a global rule.

Visa on arrival

Some countries sell the visa only at the border, often in cash dollars. That is a different product from an e-visa filed a week earlier. The border officer can still refuse.

Electronic authorisation

ESTA, eTA, ETA, eVisitor and NZeTA are for passports that do not need a visitor visa. A refusal does not turn into a visa we can file remotely. Those authorisations are on the list as not yet open — we do not charge for them.
