Expiry is not your return date
Many countries want the passport to remain valid for months after you leave, often six. The date in the booklet counts, not the fact that you fly home sooner. The airline can refuse boarding even when the border would have been more flexible.
The visa sits on the passport number
An e-visa or electronic authorisation is bound to the document number. A new passport issued after approval usually means a new application. We read the biographical page from the machine-readable zone and check the digits before anything is sent.
Blank pages and the photo
A sticker visa needs a blank page. An e-visa does not, but officers still look at the booklet. Photo rules belong to the destination. Egypt’s rules are on the Egypt application, not as a worldwide template.
